Our STORY

Proof Positive is hospitality group focused on building food and drink concepts that bring together people for a good time.

Formed in San Francisco in 2015, Proof Positive initially began as an investment partnership who mission was to fund well planned bar and restaurant concepts. We’ve invested behind the crack that that operates Horsefeather, Last Rites, Wilkommen, Black Hammer Brewing and Hazies restaurants, all in San Francisco.

We’ve since pivoted and started building restaurant and bar concepts in neighborhoods we connected with. Beginning in 2019, we built Westwood Saloon, a country music inspired bar and restaurant in the Marina District in San Francisco. Featuring San Francisco’s only permanent mechanical bull and a live music stage, we’ve brought country to the main stage in SF!

During the height of the Covid scare in 2021, we built Wilder, a craft-cocktail and comfort food restaurant located in the infamous Marina Triangle. With our large outdoor patio space and our ‘Tahoe-chic’ interior, Wilder is popular with young professionals looking for a delicious bite before a night on the town. Our espresso-tini (initially introduced at Westwood Saloon) has won multiple distinctions from this location.

In 2022, we built Thriller Social Club (2022), an immersive 10,000 sf two-story arcade bar in SOMA. Featuring a quarterly immersive pop-up bar in our Showman’s Lounge, Thriller is popular for its carnival-style amusements and its fun, laid-back atmosphere where its provisions and amusements bring us back to our childhood.

In July 2024, we proudly opened our first Southern California location. We elevated our Westwood Saloon concept from San Francisco, and debuted Westwood Steak (aka Westwood Coast) as a steak house and country music ultra-lounge, in the Triangle complex in Costa Mesa. Our food program is already winning recognition among the foodies in Southern California, and our provision hard to get to during weekend evenings.

Also in July 2024, we opened a Southern California version of Thriller Social Club, but with a country spin, which we’ve fittingly called Eastwood. At over 12,000sf, we intend on infusing “country fair” with “city flair” and develop Los Angeles largest line dancing community and country night-life, but with an appropriate amount of pop & Top 40. With over 34 carnival style amusements, a fun bar and food program, and a large number of HD TVs throughout the space, we will tap into the casual happy hour, sports and casual dining scene as well.

Still in the works for 2024:

  • Elektra, a fun augmented reality darts bar and restaurant, opening in SOMA SF, CA in August 2024

  • Morella, an Argentinian-Italian restaurant opening in the Marina District SF in September 2024

Each of our establishments bears its own distinct identity, yet they all share a common dedication to quality food and beverage options along with a vibrant social atmosphere.
